Nordic Festival

What a lovely weekend it was up at Warburton for the Nordic Festival.

I have to say that if the festival could be anywhere in Australia Warburton would still be my choice as the backdrop of the mountains, the greenery and all the autumn colours as well as the river and the gorgeous town (let's not forget the Nordic climate) all make for a fantastic and magical weekend. It truly did feel as if some part of my home longing back to Sweden has been filled. Maybe also watching the Eurovision from my home country and then Sweden winning GOLD in the world championship in ice hockey also helped to fill the little empty longing spot in me.

Here are some lovely pictures of the weekend, and of course I have to include my children, well 3 out of 4 anyway.

My true Viking children

My lovely sister from Nord Living

It was interesting to see to what sold well at the market for me. I think the most popular colours seemed to black (as per usual) but also the plum suede, dark red and dark blue for the girls and the vintage brown for the guys.
plum 3 and 4 wave

brown 3 wave and a vintage brown 4 wave

red Stockholm design

Although, for the little girls it was still pink and purple that were the go. I will never forget the little girl around 6 who asked what they cost. I replied '60-80' to which she asked 'cents?' Oh bless her!

The styles most popular were definitely the more traditional designs, but in particular the Stockholm design, which I have 4 orders of to do this week.

And out of the silver pearls it was the willow design;

Now the sun is out, so maybe after school pickup the side porch will make a beautiful spot to continue my orders from the festival... add some Swedish music on spotify a cup of my Swedish teablend and I will be in heaven...

Sick kids and work...

So today was supposed to be full of planned activities, work and chores but alas my youngest little star isn't shining so brightly. Whilst he was having temperature during the night I spent restless hours trying to re-plan and re-map my coming day, not easy.

So it is midday and still in PJs but he has finally allowed me to break free for a few minutes to pack the last order to be shipped off today. And hopefully, will be able to venture out to the post office at least to send it later in the day.

As a mum your heart breaks when they are not well and the reorganising is just a small part of it all. Most of all, the important thing is just being there regadless of the back log of work and chores.

Here is a photo of the necklace that is being shipped out today together with Acai;  green loose leaf tea blend.

This is part of my favourite place at home, my creative corner <3

Have a great day and stay healthy! Time to cuddle my little star <3

Finally back on the computer...

After moving out 3 weeks ago, temporary accommodation for a week and then moving into our new home 2 weeks ago, today we finally have both phone and internet.

As a result of numerous phone calls to Telstra after they message me that there is a working phone line, a technician came and found the fault with the wiring in the house. And voila, we have contact!

Now, the unpacking is still calling me, but I just have to touch base on my blog and show a couple of things that I am working on that have been ordered.

Finished is an olive reindeer leather bracelet in the 4 wave style but slightly wider braid as a result of the extra silver/pewter threads in the braid. 19cmx2.5cm

A dark red Stockholm design reindeer leather bracelet 18cmx2cm

Still working on these Stockholm design bracelets (red and turquoise) as well as the turquoise necklace out of reindeer suede.
I just love how the colours of the suede really comes alive in this style. Hard to capture with a camera though.

Now back to the last boxes... always the hardest to unpack! Then finish these off so I can send them away.

Cheers

New style bracelet & necklace set...

Seems wednesdays are made for blogging lately :)

Here is a quick view of the new style of the necklace & bracelet sets.

Both the necklace and the bracelet are made the same as the normal Stockholm design, but without the back leather, or in this case suede.

The suede is placed around the fastening of the loop and the shed deer antler buttons. The turquoise necklace has pewter button whilst the royal blue necklace has an antler button.

The length of the necklaces are made to personal like. I like these necklaces close to the base of the neck, but any length that is desired is possible.
Having the necklace length like this makes it also possible to wear the necklace as a double look bracelet without looking too big.

The bracelet is made exactly like the necklace and can also be made in any length. In the picture they have a tight fit to the arm, but also looks good with a bit of extra length (but not to sloppy).

It is a very stylish and clean design without too much fuss. I am at the moment in the progress of finishing a vintage brown set. Any of the colour leather and suede can be made in this design.

The cost for these are:

Necklace (short -mid length) RRP $100          Fb likers / blog readers $ 90
                (long length)          RRP $110                                               $100
Bracelet                                 RRP $70                                                 $60

Set with both                         RRP $160                                               $140

When you order, make sure to state that you have read my blog or liked us on Fb (swedelicious page) to get your special discount.

Have a lovely and safe Easter... time to get organised with the kids special Easter surprises :)
Cheers

Feeling very Swedish :)

Thought I would put this photo up of my patriotic bracelets, as I am feeling very Swedish today in the spring weather. Although, this would be more like a summer day ;)
The blue reindeer suede is such a nice and vibrant colour whilst the yellow leather is a more subdue yellow, but equally nice.

Have a fab day :)

New spring colours!!!!

So another lot of 3-braid Sami bracelets heading to Nordic Fusion stores in Sydney; black, white, tan and pink.
Whilst I am busy busy busy with the next lots of orders these beautiful colour leather and suede bands come in. I just had to get these, even though the leather is made out of lamb hide (couldn't get the same colour in reindeer leather) rather than reindeer, but the suede is reindeer suede.
The excitement is huge and I just help myself...got to start making something with them, but which to start on first??

New spring coloured lamb hides (the middle one is dark purple)

New spring coloured reindeer suede (3rd from left is turquoise which looks a little more green than shown on the photo)

love love love these :)))))))))

From Sami Bracelets to Princess Cake.

Sometimes the most simple can be the most stylish I think. The original Sami bracelets that i can remember (hence not a fact, just the old memory) is the simple 3 wave braided bracelet. It just seems to go with everything, whether day or night wear, fancy or casual.
It is a bit like the Swedish Princess cake; so simple in design and ingredients but the taste is extraordinary! Maybe i should have named the 3 wave bracelets 'princess cake' :)
Below i have placed pictures of a double length black, an olive and a plum reindeer suede 3 wave bracelet.
Of course I can't go past the opportunity in sharing a picture of the princess cake.... Hmm a cup of black Swedelicious (of course :) ) high Tea blend would suit it to a T(ea)!

Winter colours

Olive reindeer leather

Plum reindeer suede

Double length wrap in black reindeer leather
Here is the picture of the Princess i promised. I have shared Semiswede's blog photo. Have a read about the cake, the history and the making of it. Very interesting!

Isn't it just delicious!!!!!
In her post about this cake is a recipe from a very old Swedish cookbook.... i must try!
Enjoy and bon apitit (please ignore the feeble attempt to spell in french) :)

Let's get creative :)

So with sooo many different silver pearls and leather / suede i can't stop making jewellery!!!
Here i have made two reindeer leather (black and a dark blue that really looks much darker in real life) with the 4mm sterling silver balls and a plum reindeer suede with the 2.5 mm sterling silver balls.

'West Coast' plum suede with 30 small 2.5mm sterling silver balls

2.5 cm wide 'Polaris' with 36 sterling silver balls

'Emma' with 20 4mm sterling silver balls

And just as I have finished these I get a new delivery with an olive and a darker red reindeer leather!! Can't wait to get into these. The olive colour can be mistaken for either a darker brown or grey but when you see the colour beside both brown and grey you can definitely detect the subtle autumn green. Both of these are perfect winter colours!...Mmmm I'm in heaven!

The West Coast Pearl

It is not finished but i thought i would share with you the newest design of our Sami bracelets. It will have ca 30 of 2.5mm sterling silver ball on a plum coloured reindeer suede. The colour is really deep which makes the contrasting silver balls and the silver / pewter threads stand out tremendously!
Hope you like :)
