Seeing double...

I can't believe the heat we have down in Melbourne lately...when is it going to be 'nice'? Yesterdays 44C really isn't productive for getting everything ready for the Life inStyle trade show in Sydney next week. Very slippery fingers on that needle :(

Here are 3 double wrap bracelets what will accompany me to the trade show. I have to say that these styles are the most popular of all the double wraps, but I have a feeling the ones with the heart will soon share that with them.

Hard to get the right exposure and true colour to this double red 3 wave bracelet. the one below is a loved worn one. You can definitely see how nice the age.

This is a black 4 wave black double bracelet
Willow designs do best in double wraps. Here in a tan reindeer leather.
Below is how it looks in the vintage brown, both which ages really nicely too.

The three doubles together <3

Now to continue my orders and finish off a new black polaris with the new Bohemian crystals and another wide Gällivare....with Swarovski pearls...a true stunner!

A bit of bling...

Now and then I get the urge for a little bling.
Here are some of the new bling bracelets. They are all made of reindeer leather, silver/pewter threading. Some have the original shed deer antler horn buttons, whilst others have either magnetic or hook in Zamak clasps.

Red Emma design with 4mm sterling silver pearls

West Coast Navy with 2,5mm sterling silver pearls

Stockholm Design in purple. The leather through the centre is purple kangaroo. The sterling silver pearls are 2,5mm

Vintage Brown with a Zamak heart silver slider and sterling silver 3mm pearls. I am yet to name this design :)

New clasps...

I have been on the hunt for a loooong time for different types of clasps for bracelets without the pewter / silver decorations (Sami), so after looking at various source I have finally got some.

This is a magnetic silver zamak clasp suitable for 13mm width of flat leather.
The blue is reindeer leather and is therefore quite soft. The picture makes the clasp look very goldish but it is as silver as the rest of the clasps.

This olive reindeer leather bracelet is fastened with a magnetic silver clasp, suitable for flat 10mm leather.

The red reindeer was a bad choice for this silver clasp as it is more suitable for 15mm leathers, not 12.5mm which the leather band is.

From the Kangaroo leather I have a few more different clasps:

This purple kangaroo (a very strong purple) is fastened with a hammered silver magnetic clasp, suitable for 10mm flat leather.

The red kangaroo, and boy do I love this bright and vivid colour, is fastened with one of my favourites. I have used this clasp with a red salmon bracelet earlier. It sits really nice on the arm and I have clasps suitable for either 10mm or 13mm (this one).

Tan kangaroo is also strong in its colour and is fastened with a stainless steal clasp, not magnetic.

How white isn't this white kangaroo?? The photo is a little dark because if I lighten the photo the white leather becomes too bright in the picture. The clasp is a zamak silver (all Zamak comes from either Portugal or Spain) and is magnetic. It is best suited for 15mm flat leather.

All the different clasps, and I still haven't shown you all of them yet, can be used for all the different coloured reindeer and kangaroo leather. The kangaroo leather bracelets tend to be more sturdy and rigid bracelets than the reindeer which are softer and thinner. I guess it boils down to taste and preference.

Boutique Market this Sunday 17 March...

A very delayed post about the next market Swede Little Things will be part of:
Quite excited to be part of another market, the first one of the year :)

This market will see the launch of the new round braids designs, shown here in a red / white, blue / turquoise / white and a vintage brown / cream design.
The combinations are endless.

I know the single design was very popular at last year's Scandinavian Christmas Bazaar so I am hoping this will be the same for this one. To me  the new double design both feels and looks better on the arm.

If anyone is keen to go to the Boutique Market at Malvern Town Hall (cnr Glenferrie Rd & High St) it is on at 9 - 1, but make sure to say Hi :)

Cheers

Another Pearly Story...

I have to admit, I was not very convinced at first that the white faceted pearls would be to my liking to use with the pewter/silver threads in the Polaris styled bracelets.

However, placing the braid on the white reindeer leather convinced me otherwise. On the arm it gives a really nice effect, especially with the summer's light tan.
The sun catches the facets of the pearls, giving a subdued glistening effect (if that makes sense).

The green suede got a Polaris braid with Swarovski pearls and the cerise pink bracelet was made with sterling silver pearls. All in all I think the pearls worked surprisingly well with each of the colour bracelets.

I wonder how gold threading would look with the Swarovski pearls or the faceted pearls on the white leather...hmm, have to give that one a shot too :)

The pink leather looks more red in the picture...why should it be soooo difficult to catch the correct true colour? In reality, the pink is a really strong pink.

Time to get back to sewing, have markets and a festival to get ready for... and of course, more importantly, a couple of orders :)

Delivery time

Sitting in the heat of +37 degrees it is hard to get motivated to do anything but work on my bracelet orders.
These were finished and delivered to Nordliving, waiting for pick ups by my lovely customers.

Now back to the last 10 bracelets that needs to be done over the weekend... where are the elves to help me? I wouldn't mind a bit if, while I was asleep at night, they would come in and voila the house would not only be clean but all the decorations and the christmas tree would be up... not too much to ask for, is it??  Hi hi I don't think so.

Stay cool if you are in Melbourne and warm if in Sweden <3

The dark blue reindeer leather bracelet has a pewter button and 3 silver / glass beads in the turquoise colour range.

These types of bracelets will be available in all of the colour ranges in old and new colours.

Both styles will be priced at RRP $55 but of course, for my lovely readers and / or fb likers etc etc there will be a 10% discount. The discount will also be available at all the markets that we will be part of... and there are a few coming up towards Christmas :)
