There is nothing fishy about salmon leather...

I am just in love with this new leather that has come my way... salmon leather!!

How can a yummy fish be so beautiful?
The colours are just divine! The leather is soft, yet very strong. I received some sample leathers a week ago of pearch, salmon and wolfish.
Here is a sample bracelet made with a vibrant red salmon leather with my pewter and silver braiding. An antler horn felt wrong so I sew in a pewter button instead. Maybe a beautiful silver clasp would be more suitable, but I am very happy with the result.

What a fantastic way to use the WHOLE fish, we eat the fish and wear the leather!

There is panels of this leather available as well as washable (in 30degrees) salmon so very suitable for clothing. I have seen pictures of bags, belts and even shoes made in this fabric and they look fantastic.

Any craft people interested in using this fantastic leather, be it in jewellery, fashion or even in interior ie. cushion, let me know.

I'll post some more pictures of the salmon as well as of the pearch (a thicker and rougher leather) and Wolf fish (a scaleless spotty smooth leather) for all to see soon.

Life in Style

After a way too long time away from my blog I am feeling a mix of guilt and excitement! Guilt because I have neglected this area in my life way too long. I guess it is a mother's constant guilt over something... if it isn't neglect of house, one of the kids, my husband or my work it is definitely the neglect of myself and what I like.

As I am sipping a glass of icy cold white wine I am desperately trying to ignore my 4 year old's constant chatter as he is on the ipad 2 mm away from me, my 13 month old tagging at my knee and putting opera singers to shame and the house of mess! I am determined to finish this blog!!!

So the real reason for starting this post was not to convey to all the immense hectic and chaotic world I live in but to (and here comes the exciting part...) say YAY, my other babies, the Sami bracelet are right now in Sydney waiting to be shown at the Life in Style trade show!!!

My beautiful sister and her partner are there setting up for a few days of showing/ selling/ displaying their lovely Swedish clogs amongst other gorgeous Scandinavian stuff and my bracelets too :)

It took me many hours to prepare for this event, something that is in short demand here, but if it wasn't for my absolutely wonderful husband Richard, who as soon as he comes home takes over and starts dinner, bathes the boys (my daughter, thank goodness, can do this on her own accord) I wouldn't be able to run my website, make the bracelets and package tea as well. So thank you my älskling (darling in Swedish).

I'm sooo hungry as I think, no I know, that I definitely didn't eat enough during the day... but I think the day has tricked me into loosing a few hours as it has really rushed by.

Delivery time

Sitting in the heat of +37 degrees it is hard to get motivated to do anything but work on my bracelet orders.
These were finished and delivered to Nordliving, waiting for pick ups by my lovely customers.

Now back to the last 10 bracelets that needs to be done over the weekend... where are the elves to help me? I wouldn't mind a bit if, while I was asleep at night, they would come in and voila the house would not only be clean but all the decorations and the christmas tree would be up... not too much to ask for, is it??  Hi hi I don't think so.

Apology & recovery

After a very intensive couple of weeks I finally am back on the blog with a huge apology for not posting pictures of all the bracelets created for orders and the markets that have been.

And what great markets! Recovery should be on the list, but with all the orders that I have received I (happily) stay full steamed ahead!

Next week Zouk will be getting a shippment of 3 waves, double length 4 waves and a different wide style that they have come up with. Photos will come :)

Love it when people have an idea of what they are after and together come up with how it should look.

Now back to putting my love and attention to the bracelets on order, just have to wait till my little man stop feeding... well, sleeping it should be as he has contently snoozed off all cosy and full >3

Nordic Fusion Bondi Beach

Last weekend I had the pleasure to visit the Nordic Fusion shop at Bondi Beach to see my Sami bracelets displayed and sold of course.

At the same time I couldn't resist buying some dip mix, Polly and Marianne lollies... Mmm!

Feeling very Swedish :)

Thought I would put this photo up of my patriotic bracelets, as I am feeling very Swedish today in the spring weather. Although, this would be more like a summer day ;)
The blue reindeer suede is such a nice and vibrant colour whilst the yellow leather is a more subdue yellow, but equally nice.
